Who are we looking for

We are looking for an aspiring Ph.D. candidate who, upon winning the research competition, wants to make a substantial scientific contribution to the development of Quantum Artificial Intelligence applied to Optimization and Machine Learning, collaborating with us on relevant problems in the field with the goal of joining the Artificial Intelligence group of Frontiers once the Ph.D. program is completed.

RESPONSIBILITIES/SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

The doctoral fellowship aims to train a researcher in the research area of quantum artificial intelligence applied to power grid process optimization. Once the state of the art in the above topic has been analyzed, the PhD student will be tasked with designing and implementing quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning that should have the potential to generate a quantum advantage in the field of study under consideration.
The algorithms produced will be tested on real use cases using simulators and real quantum computers. The professional figure resulting from the above research track will have an innovative and increasingly in-demand profile in the emerging professional area of quantum applications.
Upon successful admission to the Ph.D. program, you will be placed in a highly stimulating, multidisciplinary and international research environment with the following responsibilities:
investigate the empirical and theoretical properties of Quantum AI models for optimization and Machine Learning;
develop Quantum AI models applied to optimization and ML problems;
interact with other academic and industrial partners in the Frontiers ecosystem;
present and publish results in scientific workshops, conferences, journals and magazines;
participate in roundtable discussions with Frontiere stakeholders and report on progress;
complete and support the doctoral dissertation.
